In the last week of June, in particular from June 27th to July 2nd 2017, training for Volunteer Centers leaders in the border region was held in Belogradchik, Bulgaria.

During the training, 10 participants from 5 volunteer centers from the border region of Serbia and 10 participants from the 5 Volunteer Centers of the border region of Bulgaria had the opportunity to educate themselves in general about volunteering, selection and motivation of volunteers, volunteer supervision. The training also covered the topics of volunteer training, risk and unforeseen situations, as well as the annual cycle in working with volunteers. This was an ideal opportunity for participants to exchange experience in working with volunteers in Serbia and Bulgaria.

After this training the participants, future coordinators of Volunteer Centers in the border region, are expected to issue open call for volunteers, organize volunteer trainings and study visits (volunteer exchanges) in Bulgaria and Serbia.

In the future, Volunteer centers will work according to the methodology developed through the project “Moving borders for volunteering”.

Project Moving borders for volunteering implements Timok Youth Center in partnership with Free Youth Center from Vidin, Bulgaria, and its co-financed by EU through the Interreg-IPA CBC Bulgaria–Serbia Programme.

The project is co-funded by EU through the Interreg-IPA CBC Bulgaria–Serbia Programme.
